On episode #44 of The Vine, PMP welcomes Rebecca Zaccard Gibson, Co-Owner & Chief Operations Officer of PENN'S CHOICE, a fully integrated seed-to-sale business that grows, processes, and handcrafts hemp products specializing in CBD & CBG flower.
As a former sports host and corporate sales director based in Los Angeles with no experience in the cannabis industry, Rebecca moved across the country with her husband Steve to the family farm where he grew up in Pennsylvania to create PENN'S CHOICE.
The Gibson family has been farming for generations, and Rebecca has joined in on the legacy having now planted, harvested, and helped produce top-quality lab tested hemp products for PENN’s CHOICE. Their farm currently has a partnership with Penn State Extension on a field test demonstration.
Rebecca chats with us about how she personally uses CBG, a cannabinoid similar to CBD which has no THC (aka Delta 9), and has focused her brand on education around cannabis as well as understanding the science behind the plant. She refers to CBG as the “champagne of hemp” because it has no psychoactive effects, but gives a bubbly mood booster.
During the episode we discuss the importance of third party lab testing, and how her company created a sister brand, PENN’S RESERVE, to focus on cannabinoids like Delta 8 (and someday maybe THC products too, if PA offers micro licenses when the state becomes adult use). Tune in to learn more!
It’s our mission at PMP to help you find the very best cannabis brands in the market. We understand that there is a lot to navigate, and finding companies with quality products that also have a compassionate heart is very important to us. It’s family-owned and operated small businesses like PENN’S CHOICE that are making the cannabis dream come true.
Congrats to PENN’S CHOICE for being nominated for Pittsburgh City Paper’s Best Of 2021 for Best CBD Shop.
